Homeschool Reentry Records Checklist
A reentry planning checklist for parents who want grade placement and credit conversations to start from clean evidence.
Direct Answer
This page helps parents decide: Help parents prepare records before a child moves from homeschool into public school, private school, or an online school. The useful answer is not a generic feature list; it is whether the option creates a workable week, visible evidence, and a clear next action.
Parent Compliance Check
- Legal clarity is not execution: Knowing the rule is only the first step. Parents still need dated tasks, saved documents, attendance, work samples, and review reminders.
- Records need to travel: Moving states, reentering school, joining activities, or applying to college all become easier when the record set is clean and exportable.
- Funding and eligibility are outside decisions: Reimbursement, sports access, dual enrollment, and public-school credit each have their own rule owner.
Where THSC fits: THSC helps organize state-aware planning, curriculum work, attendance, generated documents, progress evidence, and transcript inputs in one operating system.
Important limit: This is not legal advice. Parents should verify official state, district, athletic, college, or program rules before filing, spending, or relying on a deadline.
Decision Criteria
- Does the plan fit the learner's grade, pace, interests, and current gaps?
- Does it reduce parent planning load without hiding what the learner is doing?
- Does the week produce artifacts, corrections, projects, or records that can be reviewed later?
- Does the decision respect state requirements, high school records, and any funding or eligibility constraints?
Records And Portfolio Evidence
Save evidence while the week happens: attendance, assigned work, corrections, projects, parent notes, rubrics, assessments, and course decisions. Small weekly records beat end-of-year reconstruction every time.
School Reentry Checklist
THSC does not decide public-school or private-school placement. Parents can assemble reentry evidence from current product records: transcript tools, compliance documents, attendance/export records, completed work, printable packets, assessment evidence, and a short parent summary for the receiving school to review.
Transcript Authority
A homeschool transcript does not need accreditation to be official for the homeschool. It needs a responsible parent-administrator, clear course and credit rules, consistent grading policy, a signature, and evidence behind the record.
Proof Packet Checklist
THSC does not currently expose a one-click proof-packet generator. Use the real product surfaces instead: compliance document PDFs, attendance records and montage requests, data exports, transcript drafts, printable article packets, printable project worksheets where available, parent dashboard summaries, and separately saved parent notes or outside validation.
