We keep the question, source notes, method decisions, drafts, presentation, and oral defense together. The process remains visible alongside the final paper.

How does our AP Research course work?
Our Advanced Research course combines direct teaching, guided practice, mentor feedback, and visible evidence. The project is organized around this kind of work: Design and complete an original investigation with a defensible method, transparent limitations, a formal paper, and a public defense. Aristotle teaches the lessons and gives feedback while there is still time to improve the work. We keep the question, method, and milestones visible from the first month so the research year does not drift.
How is Advanced Research personalized?
Our starting-point check looks for the prerequisites behind research question and literature review before the pace picks up. We use that evidence to give more practice where the work shows confusion and move ahead when the student is ready. The goal is not to make Research easier; it is to keep an avoidable gap from blocking the advanced work.
Who teaches the course and gives feedback?
Our weekly plan follows this rhythm: The year runs on research milestones: literature, proposal, method review, evidence collection, analysis, drafting, revision, and defense rehearsal. Aristotle stays with the student inside that work, explaining a difficult passage or problem, asking for the reasoning behind an answer, checking understanding, and responding to submissions. That keeps teaching and feedback inside the course instead of making the parent the daily lecturer or grader.
What does the parent dashboard show?
The platform keeps the learning path, completed lessons, scores, mentor feedback, and the work behind the grade visible, including proposal and process portfolio; a substantial academic paper; presentation and oral defense. Weekly reports provide a quick check-in, while the parent dashboard keeps attendance, assessments, and finished work available for a closer look.
What starting point does Research need?
How do AP exam or portfolio logistics work for homeschoolers?
AP Research has no traditional end-of-course exam. The academic paper, presentation, and oral defense are submitted through the AP Digital Portfolio, which families coordinate with an AP coordinator; course enrollment here does not submit them for the student.
Can this course appear as “AP Research” on a transcript?
Framework alignment and AP Course Audit authorization are different things. We publicly title this course Advanced Research. Parents issue the homeschool transcript, but the AP name should only be used when the course itself has completed the College Board AP Course Audit. We keep the completed work, feedback, scores, and course record together so you can document the course accurately.
